I see lots of crocheters are making fall decorations and pumpkin's pictures keep popping out on my IG. I know summer will be over soon. I can't wait anymore. I have to put the other projects aside and make something related to fall.
So, I made this quick project: Pumpkin bookmark!
This is very easy and it takes only 10 min to finish if you follow my pattern below.
Here is a video on how to make the bookmark from start to finish!
Skill Level:
Easy
Materials
- Worsted weight yarn in pumpkin color and green color
- H /5mm crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
Abbreviations:
ch - chain
sl st - slip stitch
sc - single crochet hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
inc - increase
Note:
- This pattern is worked with joining in the round, starting in the same stitch as the sl st join.
- The chain 2 at the beginning does not count as a stitch.
Pattern:
Magic ring,
Round 1: ch 2, make 10 dc in magic ring, join to the first dc with a sl st [10]
Join to the dc indicated with the red arrow
Round 2: (sc, hdc) in first stitch, dc inc in next 2 stitches, (hdc, sc) in next, sl st in next, (sc, hdc) in next, dc inc in next 2 stitches, (hdc, sc) in next, sl st in next, join to the first sc with a sl st [18]
Join and change color: Insert hook in the first sc indicated by red arrow, pull the green yarn through
Change to green yarn,
Chain as many as you need. (I chained 30 and the length is good for children's chapter book)
Ch 10 (for the vine), sc inc in second ch from hook, sc inc in next 9 ch, sl st in next ch.
Ch 10, sc inc in second ch from hook, sc inc in next 9 ch, sl st to the next chain.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
It's done in 10 minutes!
Happy Crocheting!
